73 Questions with Jillian Ilana
In quarantine I’ve been watching a lot of YouTube videos and have binged on the 73 Questions series by Vogue and thought it would be fun to answer 73 questions myself. Here we go!
1. Favorite place to be?
New York City, I can’t wait to be back
2. Something I can never live without?
My phone...I’m ashamed.
3. Hobbies that I’ll never give up?
Reading, shopping, dancing
4. Three words to describe me?
Honest, bubbly, adventurous
5. My biggest fear?
Spiders. I will leave the room and will not re-enter until I receive double confirmation that they have been terminated.
6. What makes me angry?
Being lied to. Trust, to me, is hard to earn and easily broken
7. My inspiration?
My dad. I have been and always will be daddy’s little girl.
8. Favorite wild animal? Why?
Lions. Not sure why, but I have been obsessed with The Lion King for as long as I can remember so that probably has something do it
9. Favorite food?
Weird, but grapes. I eat them like candy.
10. First memory of life?
Carrying around my Sleeping Beauty book all over the house
11. The best advice I got?
Be a vault. Do one thing that scares you everyday.
12. Where do I see myself in 10 years?
Hopefully settled down with a family, loving my job, making a difference
13. Books reading these days?
Gabriel Allon series, FBI series, historical fiction novels. Just started the Lucy Kincaid series. I’m a fast reader with a lot of free time.
14. The fictional character I want to be?
Taylor Jackson because she is a boss-ass b**** who gets the job done with a strong moral compass. Highly recommend her series by J.T. Ellison
15. My hidden talents?
I can stand on my head, record time was 7 minutes (DO NOT TRY THIS AT HOME)
16. Favorite type of music?
I listen to everything from Broadway to pop to rap to rock and everything in between…except country.
17. When do I feel happy?
With friends and family, reading a book, watching a good movie, seeing a Broadway show.
18. Which song would I like to hear to be happy?
“ME!” by Taylor Swift
19. My favorite word in English?
Such a random question that I don’t have an answer to. Maybe calendar because knowing how to spell it helped me win my 5th grade spelling bee
20. My favorite word in Hebrew?
עוגה (Ooga), it means cake. It’s the only vocab word I remember from 11 years of Hebrew school

Italian and Middle Eastern

I’m a good listener and can keep a secret

I’m hesitant to trust people’s intentions
32. Best place I’ve visited?
Tough call...I would say it’s a tie between Amsterdam and Jerusalem

When I’m surrounded by friends and family

Graduated college, got a job in NYC

Sit-ups, I have never been able to do one
Not procrastinating, I am an expert at waiting until the last minute

Historical fiction, espionage spy thrillers, psychological thrillers
40. Any adventurous thing I want to do?
Backpack through Europe with no itinerary whatsoever
41. Something I would like to try?
Sushi in tokyo
42. Optimistic or pessimistic?
Always, always, always optimistic. Hakuna Matata

Anthony Bourdain
44. A talent I want to acquire?
Play guitar
45. Something from my childhood that I still have?
Hand painted chair and stools
46. If I had a chance to change something what would it be?
I would make the world more inclusive and acceptable for little people
47 What would I do to calm myself?
Plug in my headphones, listen to music, tune out the world and read a good book
48. When do you find yourself singing?
In the shower, in the car, in the kitchen...there is never a time when I’m not singing (doesn’t matter if there are people around)

Betraying my trust by revealing my secrets. Trust, to me, is hard to earn and easily broken
50. Have I ever sleepwalked?
Not that I know of
51. If I got a chance to go somewhere, where will it be?
Everywhere. I will never say no to an opportunity to venture somewhere new.
52. What is my dream career?
Fashion designer
53. An impossible wish?
To have one more heart-to-heart with my dad
54. Who are my greatest role models?
My mom and dad
55. If I could live in any home on a television series, what would it be?
Shiv Roy’s apartment because I aspire to be Shiv Roy

Never be afraid to ask questions
58. How do you handle jet lag?
Know when to sleep, adjust your clocks immediately when you land
59. Describe your style?
Depends on the occasion. Usually wear basic jeans/khakis and a really cute top. This year I am taking more fashion risks and surprising myself with the results. Although right now I am quarantine-chic in leggings and oversized sweatshirts.
60. Favorite makeup product?
Urban Decay Naked eyeshadow palette, I cannot live without it. That and a good tube of waterproof mascara
61. What’s a guilty pleasure you have?
Wine. I love curling up on the couch with my new weighted blanket, a glass of Riesling and a new Netflix documentary
62. Favorite Star Wars Character?
I’m not sure if I should be proud or ashamed to say that I have never seen a Star Wars movie.
63. Any pet peeves?
Loud chewing, it irritates me
64. If you could dye your hair, what color would it be?
My hair has been many colors, I did love when my hair was a cherry-chocolate color
65. What’s your schedule these days?
Wake-up, workout, work, eat lunch, continue to work, eat dinner, watch something on Netflix, repeat
66. Have you ever cut your own hair?
No, because Martino and MK would yell at me
67. Who’s your style icon?
I have several (see My Pinterest Post) . The first that comes to mind is Sinéad Burke.
68. Do you consider yourself a good liar?
I’m sad to say sometimes
69. Favorite movies as a child?
I grew up during the height of the Disney Renaissance so, of course, my favorite childhood movies are The Lion King, Aladdin and The Little Mermaid
70. Last show you’ve binge watched?
Ozark and I’m almost done Schitt’s Creek
71. First toy you’ve had?
It was probably a Barbie doll?
72. What can you see from your window?
Grass, trees, flowers, wind chimes for my father
73. What’s for dinner today?
A grain bowl from Honeygrow with wheat berries, roasted broccoli, edamame, grapes and their special seasoning which I’m pretty sure is everything but the bagel seasoning
